A Knowledge-based Simulation Model Design Tool

چکیده
This paper introduces PROSTh1, a knowledge-based simulation design tool that automatically generates simulation models from process models. Domain experts who are familiar with the various aspects of the system may be interviewed and process models can be developed based on the evidence collected using PROSIM. The built-in simulation design support environment of PROSIM enables building simulation models automatically from process models. A purchase order processing system example is described to demonstrate the utility of PROSIM.

Optimal design of supply chain network under uncertainty environment using hybrid analytical and simulation modeling approach
Models that aim to optimize the design of supply chain networks have gained more interest in the supply chain literature. Mixed-integer linear programming and discrete-event simulation are widely used for such an optimization problem. We present a hybrid approach to support decisions for supply chain network design using a combination of analytical and discrete-event simulation models. The prop...
متن کاملA Design Tool for Reusing Integration Knowledge in Simulation Models
In the academic field of computer-aided product development, the role of the design tool is to support engineering designers to develop and integrate simulation models. Used to save time and costs in product development process, the simulation model, however, introduces additional costs for its development and integration, which often become considerably large due to the fact that many, complex...

متن کاملAccuracy of Discrete Element Method Simulations: Rolling and Sliding Frictions Effects-Case study: Iron Ore Pellets
The discrete element method (DEM) has been used as a popular simulation method in order to verify the designs by visualizing how materials flow through complex equipment geometries. Although DEM simulation is a powerful design tool, finding a DEM model that includes all real material properties is not computationally feasible. In order to obtain more realistic results, particle energy loss du...
